Rheudasil pond had some good catfish back when I was in high school about 10 years ago. I havent fished there in years. I think we would just use chicken liver or stink bait. Toss it out and let it soak on the bottom. There were a good number of cats in there but not very big ones.

drive to irving in a couple weeks when it warms up. go to northwest park by the irving mall. the boy will be able to catch sunfish one after another...and you can fish for cat and carp while watching him have fun. they also stocked it with bass in 96, but I havent seen any there in years.
fatty has more posts than you. I have more beer in my garage right now than you!

thanks dan...where is that located? street? i believe it is off of Forest Vista Dr and Morris...i take my kids there so they can fish or play on the park stuff...they stock it every year with catfish. taught them to catch bass from there too they are small but it is fun for them to catch them , pearch are ok there and i have seen some crappie pulled from there...then there are the turtles...so far not to bad this year but then it is not the summer yet for turtle soup. this year i heard they were putting in trout...then letting them die off dont know if that is true or why.

The winter trout stockings got relocated to the Lewisville dam tailrace at LLELA (Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area). Don't know why, but thats where they've been stocked now.

I had a friend who used to fish it regularly. He had good success with the catfish. Some were fairly large like five plus pounds. Experiment with where you fish from. He always had the best luck on the Northern end..

Rheudasil can be good at times for LMB but hit and miss. I would not consider keeping anything from there because it does not really have water coming in except runoff and with all the houses along one full side that use chemicals/pesticides on the yard. Might not hurt us old guys but I most definitely would not feed anything from there to any kids but that is JMO since it is not posted as C&R.
I generally always C&R anyway but I think it is pretty short sighted to keep fish from a neighborhood pond.
Back to the OP...when it warms up a better bet would be bank fishing at Murrell Park or Twin Coves on GV.
