Ok, lets see if I can explain this. I have a 96 nitro bass boat thats not getting any power to the motor. When I turn the key, all the switches and buttons work for the most part. The tilt and trim on the front of the boat doesnt work, the tilt and trim on the motor works, but its extremely slow, and here is where it gets weird, if you try to use the tilt and trim on the drive shaft, the power goes dead on everything, and the only way to get it back is to unhook the battery and then reattach it. Still cant get any power to the motor itself, any ideas where to even start, thanks

probalby the safety switch inside of shift box broke or not in adjustment. can you take your shift box apart? theres a little micro switch that has to be engaged for the start circuit to work.

sounds to me like a breaker is being thrown (auto reset type) or possibly the fuse under the cowling is blown. had similar happen to me and turned out to be a fuse I didn't know was there under the cowl.

Did you check batt. voltage. IDK could it be a bad battery?

yeah, had the battery tested, even though its only 6 months old, i wanted to make sure it wasnt bad. We are still out messing with it, no solution yet

well, checked fuses and all seem to be good. Cant get that stinkin shift box off though. The tilt trim is now working from the shift box and the motor, but not from the front, and its just barely moving when pushed. Still trying to figure out how to get that shift box off to check that switch you were talking about. thanks

well, didnt really do anything, but im now at least getting a click to the motor, starting another thread for this problem, thanks for the help guys
