Noticed he was in the red with a negative weight (-1.0). How does that happen?

He attempted to weigh in a short fish. Fixed.

That's a horrible mistake to make. Fishing was bad enough but to put yourself in a negative position really makes a comeback unlikely.

Being a 16 year old kid in a Professional tournament made a comeback unlikely. I feel bad for his co-anglers that paid hard earned money to get stuck in the boat with a high school kid.

There really should be a higher age requirement than 16 years old. That's pretty ridiculous.

Did they not DQ him after attempting to weigh in a shorty?
Must have not been any Game Wardens present during weigh-in.

Being 16 doesn't mean anything. i have an 8yr old that can out fish most grown men, And i'd put money on that. That being said Always check them 14'' fish before you weigh in they always seem to shrink about 1/4''

The Kid is a good angler, better than a large number on here from what I've seen.. He's young, and very courageous to fish that mud hole IMO... Weve all made mistakes, especially when the chips are down..

If I had fished as a Co and he was my "pro", I'd politely ask that I be re-assigned to a more experienced pro.

I got a dq from the skeeter a few years back for a slot fish.. he was under when he went in the livewell but I guess the dark livewell and PRM he relaxed just enough to touch the 16" line. Can't judge the kid for something I've done too. As far as him being 16, if he can fish, what difference does his birth certificate matter?

So now we are bashing 16 year old kids for making a mistake in a tournament???? wow. And yes Billy he is a great angler...as I have spent alot of time in the boat with him. One of the most mature and well mannered kids I have ever been around. Period.
