Finally got to upgrade to a little newer boat plus longer. What do you know about these boats? Good and Bad.

LSUFan has a progator. I know the owner will take very good care of you regardless how old the boat is, he stands behind his boat. They are built really well.

good : well built , quality boat. tough as nails . family owned company that stands behind their products.

bad: nothing I know of besides they are a little heavy.

not the fastest boat or the most stylish, but they might have the toughest hull.

you are ready for the north end of palestine.

Not concerned with speed. Not ready for the north end until i get use to a longer boat. My little 17' procraft could go in and out of most anything. not sure about this one yet. thanks for all the input making me feel better about this. It is hard to trust another after fishing out of the same noat for 5+ years.

I dont mind it being heavy. I like to fish alot of open water so maybe being heavier and the deeper draft will help on windy days. I hope.

I have the same boat but with a 200 yamaha, it'll run 65 loaded and that is plenty fast for me smile I'd bet my house they have one of the toughest hulls of any boat out there and if you ever need anything, no matter how small, you can call them and the man who built your boat, Leroy Moore, will help in any way he can! If you ever get a chance I encourage you to drive over and Leroy will take you through the whole building process and it is something that gave me a greater appreciation of how well they are made. They aren't the Fanciest by any means but you just bought your self a tank smile

Thanks. I like it so far. The only problem is I have not had a chance to get out and fish in it yet. I did test drive for about an hour or so. I am going today and have the steering cables replaced as they were tighter than I would like. I have a tournament this weekend on Palestine and do not want to get in a bind not being able to drive the boat to its fullest potential if the wind gets bad.

I had the same boat in 1996, Loved that boat. My dad and I came out of a creek on Lavon about this time of year with the wind out of the South blowing in 35mph gusts, A GW was sitting on the boat ramp @ Lavonia park and we needed to go back north to 380, when we got there the Game Warden pulled up and said that he watched us leave the creek and saw the bottom of that Green and Gold boat 7 or 8 times, we were not dry but who is when you are in 5 to 6 foot rollers! but never got scared, the boat handled it well! You will love the boat!

Good Job Gary, You will love the Pro-Gator. Draft isn't much more than your procraft. You should be able to handle any area of any lake... Very tough hulls

Thanks Jody. I went ahead and replaced all the batteries and put new steering cables on it. It is kind of dissapointing when everything from my 17 foot procraft (TACKLE) all fit into one compartment. Thats ok though I don't use half of what I have anyway.

I fish out of a 93 model 17 ft progator it runs plenty fast handles big water very well for its size class and I spend a lot of my time on fork and can attest to the hull durability. on that place its just a matter of time before you test the toughness of a hull and so far no problems.
