 Just picked up a good deal on a Quantum!

Just left academy with a brand new Quantum Energy e100HPT 7.0:1 for $59.88. Retails most stores for $180 or more. Thought I'd pass the info along to you guys in case you wanted to look for one next time you go in your local store. I got the only one Midland had.

well no one in my area but Beaumont has 3, lubbock, odessa, plano, and alexandria just to name a few.

thanks for the offer but I'll pass. I'm not a fan of quantums just wanted to try it out. I figured if I don't like it I can always get what I paid for it.

I fish over 75 tournaments a year and fish over 100 days a year and no other reel holds up as long as Quantum. Sure a revo or some Shimanos are smother but they dont hold up.

The Academy's in North Dallas, Plano never have all of these sales on that everyone talks about. All they say is "Everyday Low Price." I wanted to get some Academy reels for my grandson's that were marked down to $25 but they were never marked down in our stores. I am glad some people get good deals.

Academy's pricing is computer and network based and the prices are consistent across the chain. What is NOT consistent is an individual store's attention to keeping up with pricing and marking sale and clearance prices. If you find something that you think should be "clearance priced", SCAN IT!!! If it is a reel on display, ask the clerk to check the price. Lots of times they are surprised at the price that pops up! Actually, these stores are usually the best for finding deals for the simple reason that no one knows how cheap something actually is.
