I am thinking about fishing the FLW tourney as a co-anlger in april on Sam Rayburn....this will basically be my first tournament....for a young fisherman who want to, at least, get a taste of tournament bass fishing before college, is this a relativley good idea?

Thanks

It will be a good idea if you are wanting to learn more about tournament fishing. As long as you go into it knowing you are not hiring a guide but will be fishing with a vetern pro that is trying to do all he can to win the tournament you will enjoy the day even if you do not catch a fish. There is a lot to learn when just starting out and fishing with these guys will give you the opportunity to learn a lot about fishing in a short time.
Also there is a BFL tournament the last weekend of February and as a co-angler in these events it only cost $100 to enter.
Good luck to you if you fish.

Its a great thing for you to do. And I give you a tid bit, Never fish exactly like you boater unless your fan casting a area. If your boater stays on the move as I do you want to change it up. and that tid bit will take you a long way

I don't think so. It's alot of money and you are gonna get front ended all day. I would think a much better value would be fishing a local tournament for $25 or so per time. You can go many more times, more conveniently, for the same money. Good luck with it.

Thanks guys...Along with school work, I have a decent job for a student, and not to many other expenses so I think I will give it a shot. If anything I want to at least do it once and make some decisions from there.

Again, Thanks for the help and tips!
