Out at the JOE POOL yesterday i went to start the motor and the battery had no juice. So i thought i could just start it w/ the trolling battery and while its going i'll change back to my starting battery and get it charging that way. sounded like a good idea at the time.
Well BAD IDEA as soon as i changed the battery the alarm went off i can't get it to reset. The alarm goes off even when the motor is not running.any help or advise would be great.
oh yea(112 hp johnson spl) hammer

Rendon....Sound Like you damaged the warning horn like when you connected the battery it shot electrical spike and popped the buzzer If this is a spl model I'am assuming this is non oil injection so the only other thing that would set of the horn would be a temp sensor and that would not fail by switching battery cables Check the warning horn.....OPTI

Did your kill switch become disconnected in the process? If it did, it will not start and sounds the alarm as well...
Good luck..

Guys,

Don't jump the big motor from the trolling motor batteries. It is a very bad idea. Most people do not think to unhook the trolling motor wires and they leave it jumped over for 24 volts, or even 36 volts. You can fry an ECM, power pack, or warning module in a hurry jumping it off the trolling batteries.

If you do jump it off the trolling batteries, be sure to unhook the wires completely so there is no chance of it being wired for 24 volt. We had to replace a guys ECM a few months ago and it cost him $2500.00
