Oh one more thing Legendruns, about that little ledge that dumps into the main creek a few miles back, buddy of mine saw a Marina helicopter parked on that ledge about three weeks ago. I'll guarantee you that spot is dry.

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

Was way in the back end two springs ago when we heard a pickup truck come down towards the lake and stop. Doors opened and shut and three young males began conversing in Spanish. We heard a female voice once or twice. Their voices began to raise and the conversation got heated. We could not actually see the people and luckily they could not see us. The brush was very thick. We got on the trolling motor and quietly eased out of there as the conversation continued to escalate with the hair on the back of our necks standing straight up.

The chances of being in the wrong place at the wrong time go up exponentially over there.

That was a little uncomfortable but we made it and luckily Tony Gutierrez was able to come give us a tow!!! We saw the Military helicopter through out the day as well he just kept hovering then leaving and coming back like he was flying over the whole town. We only saw 2 other boats in the creek the day we were there. I would go back in a heart beat!!!

Thing to do (and maybe you tried it) is to rotate the prop. I was able to get a hopelessly tangled net out like that without cutting the main line. I agree, they really should mark the nets especially when in obvious logical boat paths. When it happened to me I was in the middle of a creek in about 10 feet of water.

"feeling safe" does not equal "being safe." the odds are probably pretty miniscual that something happens, but the fact remains that the lake is used by armed drug cartels to ship narcotics into the US. So the answer is no, it is not safe.

Falcon is getting too crowded...y'all need to stay home.

Guys - I ran into a helicopter with 40 armed men on the bank in the Salinas a few weeks ago. If I did not play the situation extremely cool, it could of gotten REAL interesting.

Me personally I'm willing to die on this lake no questions asked. So count me in. SO here is the deal. There are 3 creeks on the Mexican side of this lake no bs which you can write your death sentence if you really tried. (2) start with an "S" and one has a nice concrete building on it and starts with a "C"
