Today was another day on the lake and another great lesson.

For those who want to recarpet their boat and are wondering about the easiest way to get the old carpet up... I have found the magic bullet for you...

I keep Reel Magic out to spray my reels when needed. Today, I had a bottle sitting under my chair on the front deck... I wheeled around and knocked it over... not normally a problem since it is a sealed pump spray bottle.... but today was not normal.... for some reason the top was loose and when it fell over, the contents poured into the bottom of my boat between the consoles. I got down there and picked it up before it all got out, but I lost about half a bottle on the carpet.

When I was getting ready to head back to the ramp, the Boss advised me that the carpet had come up between the consoles. Sure enough, where the Reel Magic had poured out on the floor, the carpet had soaked it up and then come right up. Loose as a goose.

So there you go.. your Armadilla quick tip for the day... when you want to pull up that old carpet in your boat and don't want to expend any energy in doing it.. beat your feet down to Academy and buy a few bottles of Reel Magic.. just pour it around on the capet and presto.... you will be able to just lift it out..... no work, no hassle.

reel magic is a soft solvent not as harsh as paint thinner.I use wd40 on everything from road tar to degreasing a reel.lot of people think wd40 should be used as a lubricant but its really a degreaser that should be cleaned off after use.wd and reel magic are great for removing sticky like tape and gum as well.
