Thinking of adding this feature looking for some feed back good or bad. Is it worth the money? We fish all over from Texas to TN and GA and AL. Thanks in advance K

I got it for my HDS after getting caught in a thunderstorm and nearly sinking the boat. I should have known not to press my luck but we heard no thunder until it was right on top of us.
Since I installed it a little over a year ago, I've used in on a couple of occasions to check for lightning strikes and it's given me a head start to get where I need to be before the storms caught up. It shows storm intensity, direction, and lighting strikes.
On a night trip last year I knew a storm was approaching but I figured I had a couple of hours before it got close enough. A few minutes later a bright flash got my attention so I switched over to the weather view and on the next update it showed lightning strikes within 10 miles of me - 30 miles out in front of what I thought was the storm's location. Within 30 minutes, by the time I got the boat back on the trailer, I had a full blown lighting storm all around me.
It paid for itself on that trip.
Look around and you can find the LWX module for a lot less than the suggested retail. I got mine new for around half retail.
