For an all around flipping & pitching jig, not a structure/football jig:
Flat or Vertical line tie? & Why?
And what angle of line tie and why?

Vertical with line tie @ 65* seems to be the most popular. They say it affects hook-up percentage and the weedlessness of the jig, but I think that has more to do with the actual shape of the jighead itself and not the line-tie angle or the vertical/horizontal eye.
Just make sure to put a stout hook on it if its a flipping jig. Owner's are some of the best made.
