So I've finally been able to catch some carp on LBL, and it's become very obvious I need a bigger net haha. My question is does academy have a landing net for carp or is it something I need to order online?

Landing nets made for carp are reccomended, but in most cases they're expensive, huge, and you have to use them the right way. With that being said i'd spend the extra few bucks on a euro net.

At academy do not get a knotted nylon net, they can severely damage the fish. Get a rubber or a soft fabric net. There's one called the ranger that's decent

yeah i made sure to stay away from the knotted nylon. I have a rubber one now its just too small haha. eventually i would like to upgrade to euro equipment but that might be awhile.

Fisherwood...I would like to buy the net from you. The carp I caught yesterday broke my old one. They were determined not to go in my net and they broke it. Those are some strong Texas carp!!!

I'm heading home this weekend so I'll give academy one more go, if I can't find anything reasonable I'd definitely buy one from someone.

The Ranger Net from Academy is good for fish up to 20 pounds. If you plan on (or hope for) fish over 20#, you should get a 42" Carp-Specific net. When I am fishing a longer session, or fishing a tournament, I will have bother nets ready. Jim and I have had a couple of times when all four of our nets were in use.
