I recently bought an Eagle 320 on sale at BPS and love it. I mounted it with the transducer at the back of the boat and the monitor on the console. It works great. I'd like to now add a transducer in the front of my boat on the trolling motor. The question is whether to use the same monitor or get another one for the bow of the boat? What configuration would be best? Should I use one monitor or two? I'm leaning toward a second monitor. Your input would be appreciated.

In my opinion, if you want to read below the trolling motor, then you will definitely want a separate monitor. The main thing is that while fishing all you want to do is look straight down to see your monitor, not turn completely around towards the dash to see it. I know that they swivel around but you will constantly looking backwards and it will take away from your fishing. Kind of hard to cast and work a bait on one side of the boat if you're looking the other way.

I would have 2 of them. One on the front and one on the console.

Hey GreyGuy...

I've got the 320 on my console, and this one:

(CUDA 168) on my bow, w/the transducer mounted on my trolling motor. Great combo, and the price is right.

THAT'S A NO BRAINER.

COST OF AN ADDITIONAL TRANSDUCER AND SWITCH IS $130.00. I KNOW, I DID IT.

COST OF ANOTHER UNIT WITH THE 20% OFF IS ONLY $135.00.

BPS out of stock again. They said it may be a couple of weeks before they get any more. It must be a very good unit as they keep selling out. I'm running a Garmin 160 on the consol and a Garmin 80 on the t-motor. Gonna replace the 80 with the Eagle 320 if I can ever catch them in stock at BPS.

Thanks guys for all the excellent input. I went to BPS this morning and, indeed, the Eagle 320 is out of stock. May be 1 to 2 weeks before they get a new supply. Gave the salesman my name and telephone numnber and now I am on the waiting list for one when they come in. The transducer that comes with the unit will work on any trolling motor. All I need to do is buy a $8 adapter which allows one to attach the transducer to a trolling motor.

I just saw a thread on the crappie board that said Academy has these, and will match the BPS price.

You'll have to nickle and dime them if you want to use the BPS 20% off coupon from the fishing regs book. They may be on to it by now.
