Find an accurate 10 pound weight and put it on your scales. You should be able to deduce if its accurate or off up or down.
Whichever you choose that fish is in the ballpark. Nice fish.....now exactly where is your dock at?

Allison, I liked this idea to prove one way or the other so this is what I did. I weighed myself on the bathroom scales about 6 times and got the same weight each time. I then got a plastic bucket and added water to it so that when I got back on the scales I was exactly 10 lbs heavier. I did this again 6 times and got the same reading each time.
I then hooked my scales up to the bucket of water and it registered exactly 10 lbs.
Using this criteria, I am estimating that the true weight of this big old gal was 12.15 -12.25 lbs.
Gonna remember this day forever.
Where is my dock at?? You are about the only one that doesn't know. Big Carter Slough and I am expecting a $%^&load of boats here in the next 10 days. If someone does catch her, I can only hope they release her in good shape, because EM dang sure needs her genetics.

I would have sold her to one of those guys in the red and black Skeeters that kept driving by trying to turn your bassbuster over!!
