My SpinnerBaker Jig has a Sickle hook. It's a tube jig version of a Roadrunner.

Bud B those are some great looking jigs. I will be ordering some next week before Momma gets the paycheck if you know what I mean! };o)

But no one other than Blakemore, or someone they license, is supposed to sell them. It never made sense to me. Like many others, I've owned a pony head mold since the '70's, but couldn't sell a lead-free version of the lure.

I wanted to make and sell some kind of lead-free spinner jig, so ended up tinkering and coming up with the idea of making a tube jig with a spinner. Now, I like it better than I ever did pony head jigs, so I guess it all works out in the end.

Bud B, have you tried using a fluke on your jig? Or maybe a trick worm, etc. I've always thought the added flash could be an effective presentation, perhaps on your 1/2 oz jig for bass. Would appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks.

Bill, no I haven't. My tube jig bodies are slender enough that they'll slide completely inside lots of different plastic baits easily enough. One of the things I want to do this year is experiment with using them with different plastics. I catch so many crappie on cheap tubes that I've been too slow to try other plastics.......LOL.

I don't make anything bigger than 1/8 oz. I didn't like any of the tube jig molds I found for anything bigger than that. In fact, I didn't find anything I liked bigger than 1/16 oz, either. I tinkered and worked out the 1/12 oz and 1/8 oz jigs, then had a custom mold made. Because they fit inside the plastic, tube jigs bigger than 1/8 oz would really be bass jigs, and other than a tiny bit of bed fishing in the spring, I just don't bass fish any more, so I haven't had the motivation to work out bigger tube jigs and SpinnerBaker jigs.

Thanks Bud for your reply. I am going to order several of your jigs in all sizes and try some of them w/larger bass-type plastics and see if the spinner blade will provide an enticing flash. I will contact you later in the season w/ a report. Will also try the crappie w/ the SpinnerBaker instead of the Roadrunners I frequently use. Thanks again.

My old partner made some up for me a couple of years ago and I've got a few left. We won last year at Livingston with 'em
