As far as i can tell by looking at the tpwd website. there arent any bluecats in mountain creek. might try a good quality punch bait for the channels...

Mtn creek isn't bad fishing. If you go across the bridge towards the university and take a right you can drive up to the lake. There are a couple coves that usually hold bait. I would think if you take a left and drive up near where the discharge channel is then you would also find em. Keep in mind the lake is only about 4' deep on average according to Tpwd. Also on the other side of the lake there is a little park where you can park your car near the lake. Lots of vegetation there with some bait fish.
