With all this talk about the A-Rig being legal in some tournaments but not it others, I got to thinking about trolling. Why was trolling ever banned from tournament fishing? Obviously you could cover much more water, but you never hear anyone trolling for bass even during pre-fishing or meat hunting. The only time I have ever heard about anyone trolling for bass would be by the spoon plugging guy(can't remember his name).

This is one of the reasons that I can find and probably the best.
Trolling puts you in other fishermans area too much.

My opinion is that most rules reflect the opinions of bass fishermen. I've never known where any group I've been with would have approved of a rule allowing trolling. Thats going back to the 60's.

Some organizations used to allow "strolling" or using your trolling motor and not reeling in. I don't know of any that do it right now.
