Has anyone been up in the Neches River/Lake Bayou area lately? I Fished there last year with my buddy and we caught a lot of fish. I just recently got a boat from my uncle and looking to hit it up a lot more. Also, when are those tournaments going to start back up there with the Necehs River Bass Association.
Thanks

Try to contact the people from Anglers Nation. They are pretty knowledgeable about tournaments in that area. I know they have weekly tournaments on Pine Island Bayou. the guy you would be looking for would be Bo Rice. I do not have his number but im sure you can get it onthe website.

http://nrba-bassmaster.tripod.com/mikesonnier@gmail.com is the guy to contact. They will start the week after the time change. Great little tournament with some good payback and ran by some good guys. As for the fishing, its been up and down. Below the barrier is tough or excellent depending how the tide is. Jigs, cranks and plastics being the best. Above the barrier is a little more predictable and it has been good. The water is muddy mind you, but it still has fish in it. The other problem is the giant salvana is getting out of control. IF you need further details just PM Me. Thanks

Like you and your buddy did last year, I fished with my son-in-law last year in Lake Bayou a few times and enjoyed it. We caught them on small buzzbaits and texas rigged worms. He lives in Beaumont, I live in Orange and mostly fish the Sabine river.
