I'm planning to make a 600 mile trip with my boat in tow this summer. I want to get a replacement hub kit to bring along just in case. I believe I've identified my bolt pattern (5 on 4-1/2). I guess now I need to figure out the size of my spindle.(?) Any ideas on how to do this? If it helps, it's a RangerTrail single axle trailer. Thanks for your help!

If your'er headed out for a long journey, best to pull and inspect bearings/axle BEFORE you have problems. You can get your extra kit then.

When I replaced mine recently I needed to take the bearings to the trailer shop so they could determine which hub I needed.

When you pull the bearings the spindle size will be stamped on the bearing. It'll be 1 or 1 1/8" spindle. If you want to save yourself from doing this yearly, take the bearings to a good automotive shop and match them up to USA made Temkin bearings. Put on SS bearing buddies too. You'd be good to go for a LOOOOOOONG time.

I've found that a few dunks in the lake ceases the metal bearing buddys so the spring pressure is nil. Stainless steel(SS) is the only way to go in my opinion.

I believe those bearings are 1 3/8" X 1 1/16". I have a single axle Ranger Trail trailer and that's what mine measure. Easiest way to be sure is just remove the spindle and measure. The 1250 lbs capacity trailers have a straight 1" axle. The 1750 lbs capacity trailers have the 1 3/8" X 1 1/16". Hope this helps.
