Sx are designed to run without a jackplate. If you put one on it it will void the hull warantee. I have the sx 200 and believe me it doesnt need one for perfornance. It's a different hull then the ZX line. The SX hull is the zx from the late 90's. The sx 200 will eat up a zx 200 all day on topend. The sx doesnt have the bells and whistles that the zx does but is still built with the same quality. The hull is a little deeper on the sx then the zx( i think 6") but dont quote me on the measurement.

I had an sx 18.5 The seats on the sx were very unfriendly. May seem trivial but get out in some stuff and it makes a difference. Other than it was a fine boat. I think most of the difference are in the finishes

the zx hull is more sleek in design you get a better live well system the dash an switch panel is nicer an when you go to sell it you will recover a little more of your money you spent when it was purchased

The SX is Skeeters entry level boat. Not only is the hull different, but it doesnt have any of the bells and whistles that the ZX has such as, aerated livewells, pump outs, compartment lighting, etc..

when i bought my ZX in 2001 the SX had wooden hull. That was true; the SX models were not fully constructed of composite material... Don't know about now-a-days, but 10K cheaper would make me think it's still got a lot of wood in the transom and stringers.. The TZX is a modified version of the original ZX model minus a few bells and whistles.. When I bought my 2004 ZX it was the top of line in those days.. Now you have the FX-Iclass-ZX-TZX-SX

Mine is a 2005 and has no wood in the boat, its all composite. Asfar as prior to that i'm not sure. It does hake areated livewells but they are drain out not pump out.

I have a 2009 SX and I love it. It was $10k less than the ZX. I stepped out of the 21I Series and thought it was the worst mistake that I would every have to make. It fishes just as good but I mess the extra foot and half in rough water. I have all the good depthfinder, hoot foot, no pump out, but big areated livewells. The price out the door was $29K; that was the best part. It is for sale as soon as I can find a new boat to replace it.
