Yes, the Walmart in Sulphur Springs has Quamtum KVD rods, skeet reese, and abu garcia rods. I'm pretty shock myself.

I've been hearing rumors about that myself but I do my best not to give my money to China Inc. If possible, I buy from local shops/marinas or online shops owned by individuals. I'm the "little guy" in my business so I try to support the same.

Every January their inventory changes. Unfortunately their prices do not. Academy will still have sales and still have the rod riots. Walmart will not and unless there is an add will not match pricing. All of that on top of their new return policy which is not consumer friendly. This is not a hate message just stating fact.

Not at ours yet! We have a poor selection of lures and stuff right now. All though, at the end of summer I bought an Abu Garcia spinning reel for way cheap at Wally world. Selection should get really good closer to spring!

Thats great news! Wish the Wal-Mart here in Big Spring would entertain the same idea.
There is NOTHING, to speak of on their Shelves here now.

Wal-mart price matches without an add. I think up to $70 buks tho. I've bought cranks from there when academy ran out and they match no questions asked.

Picked up two new KVD 7'11" and 7'4" cranking rods for $99.99 a few weeks back. Returned to see if they restocked to buy a few more. They did but had marked them up to 139.99. I left happy but sad.

Same here. My wife's school had some special thing at sams club last week and we skipped that too. I havn't bought anything at a walmart store in probably 6 or 7 years.

Have you tried that in 2012? They changed a lot with their return policy. I only know because I tried returning a few things I got for Xmas.

Went to two Wal-Marts today in the Mesquite/Garland area and both had all the same gear the OP mentioned. Only disappointing thing was the prices were all equivalent to what you would find at Academy and Bass Pro. Still nice to seem them picking up some higher end gear. When I was there they were reworking to the lure section. Will be interesting to see what they add there.
