I was out this afternoon, fished one of my holes and started up to move to another. When I got on it my alarm went to beeping, like I needed to add oil. After looking, my oil was fine. I turned the key to the on position and it started beeping again and would not stop. Nothing was hot, i was discharging water, engine ran as strong as ever just that dang beeping. Any help on what might be wrong would be appreciated. I have a tourney sunday and need it fixed by then. Thanks for any help, suggestions or ideas.

Be shure the motor resevoir is full of oil, sounds like you checked the main tank in the boat. If motor reservoir not full, the screen on the oil pickup needs cleaned, main oil tank. If full it is probalbly the oil level sensor, cap on motor resevoir with wires coming out of top and a float that sticks into the resevoir. Good Luck

Hambone...If it sounds with the key turned to the on position you have a bad oil module it is the black box on the port side of engine five wires a blue ,bluewhite, white , green, purple your not going to get a warning if a sensor is bad unless engine is running because all sensors run through the module and it get it's reference voltage from the green wire witch is connected to the ignition..........OPTI

OPTI, if the module is the problem do I need to get a new one before heading out on the water again? Or, can I just unplug the beeper for the weekend and get it fixed next week when the only boat shop in Graham is open? Thanks for your help. I know very little about working on boats.

Hambone...What you need to do is disconnect the tan with blue tracer wire that comes from the oil module it's located left of the starter solenoid it's a terminal with two lugs you will have a set of tan wires and a set of purple wires trace the tan wire that comes from the module and remove that wire and hook the other two back on lug tape up the wire you removed. Then what you have done is disarm the oil signal to horn but the overheat sensor still is active then add the correct mixture of oil to the gas one pint two 6 gallons this why you know you are getting oil because if you dont with the oil warning disconnected and you do have oil pump failure you wont know mcause the warning is disconnected Hope this is not to confussing......OPTI
