I'm curious to the effects this warm, wet winter will have on area lakes (DFW) and if this is considered a good thing.

Of course the rain is needed but what about the lack of freezing temps? Does that affect algae growth, spawning or migrations?

Thanks for any insight

Fishing here on the Guadalupe has been great since we are having this warm spell and the river is crystal clear up in down in Ingram. I know the warm weather has been great for me since I got my new titanium hip, warm and damp is fine, cold and damp makes me hurt like the dickens!

This is normal for this time of year, sort of like a false spring.
Winter has yet to arrive.Maybe in about 2 more weeks.
Remember the snow last year, and the year before in February.
Enjoy this now.

You are roughly 500 miles north east of me. Down here in Kleberg county it is bone dry. Lake Corpus Christi is down to 31.8%. Three of the full grown trees in my back yard are dead due to drought. Send some of that rain this way next time.
