We used a small CMC tilt and trim on a 40hp for a number of years. Worked well, no problems. Had it on an old 15' Skeeter Strata with a Tohatsu 40hp. Could not get out the hole with out the trim. Sold the boat to a friend of my fathers 8 years ago, as as far as I know it is still running around Braunig.

Take a look at www.troutfishingvideo.com
click on equipment and take a look at the boat. It's 22' long and has a nissan 25hp 4stroke on it, which is a very heavy engine.
I have the tilt/trim you are wondering about on this boat and it works great. I needed something that would raise the motor fast to avoid all the big rocks you run up on in the White River and this thing works great.
