I'll try anything once.

That sig pic looks like a scene in the movie "Road Trip". Next thing you know the guy was holding a pair of cheetah print panties that would fit Mark Pack!

Regarding the reason why Media Bass is limiting anglers to not more than two lures with hooks is simple.

How are you going to cull 10 fish (or 15 in a team event) when you get to catching a bunch of fish on an A-Rig? How will you do that without breaking a five bass limit per livewell? How will do that without mistreating fish in the process?

As for the cell phones. . .

It has always been our reasoning to limit anglers to their own abilities while on the lake in a tournament. No help from others in "locating or catching bass".

We have never had a rule that bans Hydro Waves or BioSonics specifically, we simply classified them as a communication device. We have now lifted the classification of these as "communication devices". Media Bass regards them as fishing tools.

Now when you say no phone you mean calling people right? I have a mapping app on my phone that I can use to look for places to fish, is that ok?

I said "cell phone".
NO calling other anglers to help you locate or catch bass.

Mr. Stauffer, you could have easily allowed the Alabama Rig in your events without any fear of culling infractions.

Four dummy baits and only one with a hook in it. Simple. The fish hit the center bait 98% of the time anyway.

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

I think the intent of the rule is to prohibit anglers from having their buddies fishing on the same day trying to locate fish and then calling their friend in the tournament and telling them where they are at during tournament hours. I don't think smart-phone apps where even invented yet when this rule was written.

I don't see how a Navionics app could be disallowed based on the original intent of the rule, if indeed that was its original intent. But ultimately, its the TD's call.

Makes me think of the eTrade app commercials, lol.

Just a man and his boat, and his smartphone, and a Navionics app.

Chris , you can use an A-rig like that .....except with two baits with hooks. At least thats how I look at it.

In theory I can understand what you're talking about Gordon and I respect you. In reality though I don't see an issue as I'm sure it happens where you would have 4 or 5 fish on but I've only doubled on an A rig twice. By having the no more than 5 in the livewell tournament rule I see now how that would be an issue that would be a DQ for putting 6 or 7 fish in the livewell while culling. While the intent wouldn't be to keep them in the livewell for any longer than it would take to cull that would still be a rule violation. That would cause for the fish to be out of the water longer than normal to stay within the rule. Some people are very efficient at culling and others take a while. I misunderstood the reasoning originally and appreciate the clarification. I'm hoping to get back into tournaments this year and make a few so I hope to see ya around Cypress or Sandlin.
