laughing at all the relationship advice on here. She thinks he spends a lot on fishing, it's probably true.
She seems level headed...keep her, there isn't many out there that are!

Did it ever occur to you that she is right? $1200 is a big chunk to spend unless you have a lot of discretionary income.

I got my wife interested in fishing several years ago. She spends as much as i do on tackle and that is one subject that has never caused an issue. Sometimes the boat is hooked up, washed and ready when i get home from work. I don't understand what you guys are complaining about. LOL!!!

How do you convince your girlfriend that tackle is not a waste of money?
My girlfriend recently brought up the fact that I spent around $1200 on tackle year summer and said I shouldn't be wasting my money!
Can you believe that! run! you wont ever be able to enjoy your hobby without a sense of guilt if you continue into marraige.

get married, buy what you want and when she complains cheat on her and get caught on purpose, tell her she has a choice either fish or ho's.

Wait until your married it will really get crazy. Back in my tourney days I was probably spending $1200 a month or better on fishing counting everything, truck, boat, fuel (when it was $1.20/gallon), tackle, food, lodging, etc. and I was just fishing @ the club level...I got married 20 years ago and we had two kids. The boat disappeared about 12 years ago after it sat in the garage almost totally unused for 2 years. I just enrolled my oldest in college to be a mechanical engineer this past summer so I am probably going to have to sit it out at least 4 more years. Luckily my youngest will be a freshman in HS at that point. So hopefully I can get something to run up and down the lakes at that point. It may not be much.....

Oh I still own a boat but this is a far cry from a 18 foot Ranger or Nitro with an XR6 hanging off the back of it that I was running back in the day. Don't even have a trolling motor........paddle powered....
