I have some goretex lined hiking boots that work well, socks just depend on the temp. If its cold some nice wool socks, otherwise just normal athletic type socks.
Either way make sure the shoes will keep your feet dry and your rainsuit pants fit over them.

If its cold, i wear some wool socks and some insulated boots. If its warm or hot outside ill just wear some regular shoes and socks. prolly older shoes not new ones as they are going to get wet. then have a change of socks and shoes in the truck after the day of fishing.

Crocks and socks. Winter time is wool sox and Goretex Irish Setters. No crocks and socks in the rain.

Muck boots! They leave a hell of a mess on the front deck though!

Looks like I need to get some waterproof shoes too. Rain in the forecast for all three days of the Everstart tournament at Amistad. The hard part from what I looked at is getting some that are kind to boat carpet.

I purchased these and they have been great, waterproof, almost knee high and warm, got the knee high because the lakes are low and beaching meant getting in the water.

If you want crazy good socks, check out DeFeet. http://www.defeet.com/For the summer I like their no-show running socks matched with Merrell Water Pros (you can get them at Academy). Great stable platform on rocks, gravel ramps, boat decks, standing in my kayak in both wet and dry conditions. They make happy feet.
