I have a fiberglass Infinity Bass Boat 16'5" with a Johnson GT 150. Here is my problem; I have a leak somewhere in the boat that I cannot find. I have checked the transom and all the thru the hull connections for the live well pump, bilge pump, and plug. None of these are bad. Even when I do not use the live well, I still get a LOT of water in the boat. I have also check the overflow hoses on the side of the boat and they are not leaking.
Please Help

Put the plug in the boat, in your driveway...put your hose in the boat and turn it on...wait for water to start dripping out of the boat...leak found. ------------------ Gig 'Em, Aggie class of '94.

Get your boat on a level dry surface and start filling her up with water( in the hull not on the floor). Crawl underneth and look for the water coming out. Trace it back to the source and circle the hole/crack with a marker. If the leak is under the bunk boards it may be hard to find but this method WILL show the hole.

Will this show me if there is a leak around one of the connections to the bilge pump, live well pump or at the plug?

If the pumps are old, the plastic housings themselves can develop hairline cracks that can let water in. Had this problem with my last boat.

The last time I had to deal with a leak I found that by just putting water in the boat the leak would not show up because of lack of water pressure .. Actually had to put the boat in the lake and then look around to find it

Oldtimer you must be right. I all most filled my hull with water and still could not tell where it was leaking. I was wondering if it was caused by the weight of the boat in the water. I think I have found the leak. There was a little water coming in where the overflow for the live well comes thru the transom and the hose that goes to the live well connects. Think all of you for your help.

Not only can it be an external leak, but if can be coming from a plumbing leak inside the boat. Close your live wells, and fill them with water. The base of your bilge pump may also be broken that is allowing the water to backflow into the hull.

Silicon dollar bills around the leak. Show your boat that you have money and you are not afraid to use it. Maybe next time it won't leak... this is a doubtful conclusion though.

Why not just put some dishwashing soap in the hull, go to the lake and look for bubbles.
