I have seen several idling rpm incidents where I do not think the motor charger is putting power back into the battery. In fact it looks like at trolling speed (2.6 mph idling, sorry rpm have not yet been noted) that the engine is drawing down the start battery.

Can anybody confirm this should or should not be happening.

It should never draw the battery down at any rpm.

i am running a 1996 200efi, at idle charges at 12.5 but never runs battery down lower than that, above an idle goes to 13.5. had that happen to me once found battery was no good, just a thought.
