I have a Humminbird 1197cSI that I updated to version 5.840.

I cannot get the Lance Vick Boatlanes to loaded the boatlane track. I have the Boatlanes track version for Fork.

I also cannot get Tommy Martin's GpsLakeMaps to load their creek tracks either. The GpsLakeMaps will load its waypoints, but not any of its creek track data.

I have both the above in my Humminbird PC version 4.1.8 database and attempted to save and load, but NO-JOY there either.

I did have 4 tracks created and saved with my 1197cSI and they were able to be imported.

Any TFF Humminbird 5.840 owners have either BoatLanes or GpsLakeMaps installed properly?

Thanks

Thanks Bobby,
Replied to your email. Humminbird support replied they are aware of this problem with loading track data.
A fix is coming with next release version.

I volunteered for any Humminbird beta-release, but. . .
Guess I will have to do without tracks or do a version fallback to 5.500. Really like to have fix before I fish Fork, which is like probably tomorrow. Have to fish the old-school methods.

Thanks Bobby, Doug.

OK, Humminbird release 6.180 a couple of weeks ago.

And nothing was fixed.

I really need to know if ANYONE has 5.840 or 6.180 release and has successfully loaded Boatlanes or GpsLakeMaps successfully. I see a conflict between the above products and the new Waypoint Management System.

Humminbird Support has tested both above products and is aware of the issue. My understanding from Support's answer is they changed the Humminbird track format with WMS, and Humminbird is taking the it's not my problem position.

But tracks I create under older releases will export and load with 6.180, just not other products.

Boatlanes and GpsLakeMaps are excellent products that enhance my Humminbird experience. But that might not be now.

Hopefully Humminbird will change their position.

Download the Boatlanes and Way points to HummingbirdPC, then load them to a blank card to install in the unit. That may get them in the correct file type that the unit will process.
It may or may not work, but should be similar to translating other brand's GPS data to use in Humminbird units.

Wayne,

NOJOY....

Have use HumminbirdPC, but it does not fix.

HumminbirdPC will download and upload both products just fine and you can look at the tracks in HumminbirdPC. I used the HumminbirdPC release matching the unit software release.

Have upgraded my units(1197, 998) with the products on them.
Have deleted all nav data, upgraded, then attempted to load.
Neither work out.

GpsLakeMap's tracks display with my Navionics maps and they are the default nearly invisible dash line which is useless on the water. Waypoint Management System on the 998 does not display the tracks. WMS on the 1197, entering WMS crashes the 1197.

Boatlanes neither displays or appears under WMS.

After updating my SI 998, it does not load my GPS Lake Maps saved tracks. So I do not get river channel information. Hope HB fixes this problem.

Ok, found a workaround for Humminbird releases 5.840 or 6.180, both with Waypoint Management System.

Bobby from GpsLakeMaps sent me the Lowrance version of Fork which is a .USR file for testing.

Used HumminbirdPC to OPEN this .USR file, prompted me to continue and convert to GPX format, answered YES, then a new HumminbirdPC file appeared in the list of opened files.

Then you upload this new HumminbirdPC file onto your SD card and load successfully into your unit.

Confuses me why one has to convert-Lowrance-to-Humminbird for HumminbirdPC to force the GPX file-record reformat to the new data record format.

Since the test was successful, I used the GPSBABLE open source program to convert-to-Lowrance on all my other Boatlane and GpsLakeMap files and it works also.

New GPX file also seems to be backward compatible, but I would save my old one.

Seems like every company that has new updates on software has problems so my fix for it is if it works fine and nothing is wrong with it don't upgrade it upgrades ain't always best.

Has this been resolved in the latest release? Or do I still need to convert the Lowrance version to GPX with HumminbirdPC? I just downloaded the latest Boatlanes product for Sam Rayburn in Humminbird format.
