This was posted on another forum that I "lurk" at. What ya think of this?

"So we have our monthly meeting last night. A deal was struck as follows. The tournaments are going to be conducted much differently. Depending on how many guys are fishing the tournament, boaters and non-boaters, you will all weigh your fish at the end of the day.
Now this is where it gets hinky. The guys that finish in the top 3, they will have 25% of their total weight deducted. This weight will then be given to the bottom 3 guys. Typically non-boaters but not always. The next 3 guys down the chart will have 20% of their weight deducted and the next 3 after them 15%.

This weight is given to the reciporcal guys on the bottom. The idea is that they guys that are always winning are usually the boaters. The club wanted to make things more equitable for all the members.

Now, if let's say you are the top finisher. After you have 25% of your weight taken away and given to another club member, if you fall below the total weight of the first guy to have 15% taken away, he will win the tournament. I have my reservations about this system.

To me, it seems we are rewarding those who don't do as well as others and possibly others who just don't care if they do well or not.

What do you think of this system?"

I wouldn't be in that club that's for sure. Boater or non boater. I honestly think that's one of the most ridiculous things someone has came up with. But if that's what they wanna do then that's what they are gonna do..

Socialism at it's finest Don, spread the wealth (weight) around to those who aren't willing to work as hard for it.

I wouldn't fish there and that would actually BENEFIT me hahahaha.

Yep, just read it. Spectacular. Even the Cali guys were saying "You've got some east coast liberals running your club" hahahahaahaha.

Edit: It's a joke too, making a crack at our current political climate and watching all the lefties throw stones at the idea of sharing the fishing wealth while they vote for sharing the financial wealth best I can tell.

Awe come on Gary, it's almost that bad for us now. It's sad that all the bs is killing clubs these days.

Wouldn't join that club.

You need to add in exemptions and write offs. You qualify if you use ethanol, recycle your plastics, contribute to the kid fish event, use environmental friendly sun screen, contribute to the club by adding members, buy club sponsors products, etc.

Sound familiar...The top three guys end up having no deductions, the bottom guys get weight added and the guys in the middle get hosed.

CRAPPPPP, I didn't know you were fishing Don. Leave it to me to screw up the bag. No worries, someone will be along with a bigger bag and give you 25% of it soon hahahaahhah.
