How do you folks like them? Pros and cons? Have you tired the new Edge series? And if so, whats your opinion of them. I have been kicking around the idea of switching over to them, but I would like a little feedback. And as usual, I'm not looking for just good reports. If you hate them, tell me why too.

Thanks in advance.

I have 22 of them would'n have anything else I haven't fished with the new Edge enough to really give much of an opinion yet but so far it is great. The first models had thumbbar problems and handle knob problemsbut thet solved that real quick. The Edge is a little more comfortable as it sets down in the handle farther. Some people complain they are heavy but I am almost 75 and have no problem with weight I can't see where 1/2 or 1 oz makes that much difference. I have used them from the time they came out bought my first one because it was made in the USA and have visited their factory and saw them being made. Also I don't think you can find a better casting reel long casts and very backlash forgiving.

I have started using them this year. I have 4 of the C-500's and just purchased a new edge tournament. They cast better than any other reel that I have used. The older models do have the problem mentioned above with the thumb bar but not enough to make them un reliable. My .02

Not a user, however I have kept my eye on them and they would be the first if I changed brands.
I actually like the old design, as in XS600. Apperance wise the new models look nice. As with any new manufacturer it sometimes takes a new year to get the bugs out.
If they have great customer service, which I get the feeling they do, and the fact they are made in the USofA. I would have no problems purchasing one.
I have matched the older models with a few rods and fished in the store. I know that hardly qualifies me as a user, but lets be honest..............WE HAVE ALL WANTED TO WET A LINE AT THE BPS TANK.

We have 8 or more ardents. I like the xs series the c-400, and
the F-500\700 for flipping.
I like the xs 600 new will out cast most xs 1000.
These reel feel like a curado 200b but american made.
They can be caught on sale right now.
I have big hands and do not like the small size of the edge reels.
Ardent builds a quality reel right now I would buy the older series!

One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!
