Does anybody know how to check on transferable warranties.

I want to look at a 2002 boat with 2003 motor that was titled 4-6 months ago. A dealer has the boat.

How would I go about check the warranties?
Would I get the serial numbers and call the manufacturer?

Thanks,

Bruce

The dealer doesn't have that information for you? That's weird....

I would think that getting the serial numbers and calling the manufacturer would be best.

On a boat that new ...the warranty cards may never have been sent in and the warranty registered. Call the mfg and find out, if that is the case and you want to buy from the dealer who now has the rig ...make him furnish the new warranty cards as part of the deal. The warranty on boats usually starts when the boat is sold to a retail customer by the original dealer the mfg sold it to. Dunno 'bout motors. sometimes boats and motors get swapped around from dealer to dealer during inventory buyouts or repos but that doesn't mean that the retail customer - You - should get screwed out of whatever warranty is available.

ShadBoy, Get me the serial number of the motor and I can check on it with the manufacturers. You can e-mail me at rockwall_marine@sbcglobal.net.

Thanks Tommy,

When I am able to get the info I will pass it on to you. The boat is in Houston.

By the way do you have any 19-22 CC's for sale.

Thanks,
Bruce

I have a 1999 Kenner 21' Vision with a Mercury 200 Bluewater motor. This boat has very low hours and very clean. Cuatomer asking $16,500.00 but negotiable.

Tommy,

Thanks for the pictures. Things are slow today so I may come out there after lunch and look at the boat.

Thanks,
Bruce
