If anyone knows where to find bass in Lubbock, I'd really appreciate some advice.
I tried a couple of the park ponds but didn't have any luck.
Thanks

kings park north (behind fox and the hound) used to be really good. I know there are still some big girls in there. it's deep and has tons of shad and blue gill. it used to be really good! they are all going to be tough this time of year. I have also heard that the lake ridge country club lake has bass. also Lubbock country club lake has some nice fish. but you have to sneak on there.

I tried Kings Park, but didn't see any sign of fish life. They may just be too far off the shore right now.
Do you know which kinds of lures/baits work best in the park ponds?
Does Lake Ridge Country Club care if people fish there? I know Lubbock Country Club doesn't allow it.
Thanks for your help.

This past year really hurt us here in Lubbock with the lack of rainfall..... There is another playa lake south of the kingsgate shopping center that is bigger. Might try that one (you might not be able to fish it). I see people fishing down in McKinzey Park quite a bit. Not sure the exact spots but there is a frisbee golf course setup around it. I believe it is off of 13th St. down just east of the interstate. Worst case you could always drive out to Buffalo Lake or if you don't mind driving an hour go to Alan Henry.
If you ain't first you're last.

when I say kings park I mean te lake behind fox and the hound. not the lake with te fountains across the street. that one is slow. kings park is 20'-30' deep in the middle. there are some rock piles on the east side of the lake that hold bass all year long. none of the lakes have been the same since they put in the drainage systems. KP used to be a blast. I remember catching huge bright red sunfish with a pistol Pete fly on every cast when I was a kid!!! I forgot about the lakes on the south loop and the interstate. there are two lakes right next to the highway. I've heard they are good! (or maybe just 1) you should just throw a tx/carolina rig finesse worm... or a rooster tail when it warms up.

Don't try here in midland! I am working her for a week and this part of the state is where you send bassfisherman to be punished! I went to the academy just to look at tackle to get some kind of fishing feeling this weekend! Can't wait to go home where we have some water in our lakes

Yeah not much Bass fishing going on in Lubbock. When I finished School at Tech I was blessed to come to an area where the bass are plenty. I traveled many times to lake Alan Henry. Good lake and a good drive from Lubbock. Since Alan Henry is the only good lake around there that is where everybody goes. It has a lot of fishing pressure and in the summer time tons and tons of Ski people. Canyon Lakes will house some bass. I have caught some there in the spring. Heard stories of some good ones taken out of there. Good luck finding bass in Lubbock..

Every body of water I've gone to within Lubbock city limits is in very bad condition. The water is so murky you lose sight of your lure after dropping it about 6 inches underwater. Also, there is an immense amount of trash and no vegetation.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but from the looks of it the drainage system and drought have killed off mostly everything. If not, the fish are staying way out in the middle on the bottom.
Regardless, thanks to everyone who replied.
If anyone has found fish recently, please let me know.

Don't waste your time on bass at buffalo. I live out there and have never caught a bass.

Fish the pond that is out in front of Adolf's or McKinzey Park.
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together
