Since duck season is ending on Sunday, I was thinking that it might be time to pick up the old fly rod again. I was planning a trip to Windmill Lake to harass the fish there. Has anyone been out there lately? Is there any water in the lake? The drive is a little far for just a scout around, and it would depress me too much to see that little lake without any water.

BTW duck season was rough, but I did get to shoot a few for some nice fly tying material. I hope to post some pics of creations from the feathers I saved.

Might ask up in the flyfishing section, Allyn. Don't recall seeing much about Windmill posted here. I need to break out the fly rods and give that lake a shot.

I did and got some reports. I hope the rain is helping all of the area lakes. I grew up with some old timers who ranched through the drought of the fifties. Those stories always made an impression on me. I have started to wonder if "drought" is the "norm", and we have just seen some wet times.

Thanks....

I'll try to dig up my Grasslands map and give you some directions. It's a fly-fishing only lake, barbless or crimped barbs, catch-and-release for bass, and no motorized watercraft.
