I bought this boat from a guy last year.( like a dummy i trusted the guy ) because i knew him. I gave him the money and got the boat. He was going to bring me the title the next day and as so offten happens he got busy and didnt bring it. I waited and waited and talked to him several times and he had the title and was supposed to bring it to me. One day i called him and his phone was disconnected. Long story short he moved. no title, no new address and no idea where he went. its been 6 months and i need to regester this boat and they say i cant without the title. ANY IDEAS. Besides letting the sheriffs office have my boat.

Hate to tell you this, but your S 0 L. What I would do is go on People Search (on the net) He's got to show up somewhere or try Title Search in Temple, Tx.

Tryed that also driver. can't file for lost title unless your name is on the title. All they keep telling me is that i can turn the boat over to the sheriffs department and then bid on it at auction to buy it back. problem is. I CAN BE OUT BID on my own boat.

Does the boat have a TX number. You can go to the Tex Fish and Game office and pay them $2 to find who holds the title or if there is one. Some older boats have never been titled. If so all you need is a bill of sale. The office for the Denton area is in Ft. Worth.

Jig I was able to title a boat a couple of years ago.Simular circumstance,All i Had to do was send a certified letter to last known address. When I got it back (not picked up) TPWD was able to tittle with proof We had tried to contact the last person on the title.Good Luck
