deer liver on a trot line. Caught several channel cats. My aunt told me once that deer liver was the best she ever ate. I thought it sucked and hated to throw it away. Thats when I thought hmmmm... would it work? Deer is a game animal, and no part of a game animal may be used for bait in Texas. Just fyi so you don't get in trouble. with the exception to this rule, if you can prove the meat is inedible it may be used. lets say it has really bad 3 year old freezer burn...strait from txpw.

My brother and I set a trot line one time and wanted to chum around it. We raided my mothers fridge and put everything that was out of date in a 5 gallon bucket. Dumped it out by the line. Cleaning the fish we found all kinds of stuff, weenies, ham, cheese, sauerkraut, bread....alot of stuff. Also seen perch bit a cigarette butt.

Took some fresh liver and threw it on top of the shed at our lake lot for a few weeks. When I opened it up it nearly knocked me over but I caught a ton of channels on it.

A rubber skeleton from the office Halloween stash. Spotted him in the candy bowl and thought itd be a good try for fishing. I figured a fish might think it may be time for a little revenge when it saw the little dude dangling in the water. However, it got hook on something after a few casts so I cant really say if it was effective or not. Cant wait to ransack the bowl again next Halloween!
