I have a 93 120 Hp force. The tilt and trim is.not.working th motor works fine but for some reason the oil wont go through the lines to tilt the.motor up and down. Ive done everything I know to do and believe my problem is the.cylinder on the pump is not working correctly I'm looking for just that part or advice on what else to try all the mechanics ive talked are no help they tell me I screwed it up which I'm very aware of that but that's about all they say. One told me yesterday it would be 1100 to replace the pump but I found one last night for 275 any help would be great.ive been jacking with this thing for 2 weeks.

I don't know if this will help, but when mine was acting up it was low on fluid. May wanna give that a look. Did you try opening the relief valve? On my motor it's a small recessed screw with a flat head on the side of the T/T unit, lefty loosey opens it and allows the fluid to bypass and the motor will move up & down freely. Then you can get to the fill screw on the unit and check the fluid. Hope that helps you out.

??? Ya got me there sir ??? When you filled it back up did you cycle the motor then top off the fluid? I had to repeat that cycle 4 - 5 times on mine until it was runnin smooth again. Other than that I'm at a loss, I don't know if there's a screen or filter that might be clogged but I doubt it. Hopefully one of our more knowledgable members will chime in and get ya squared away. Good luck!

the motor works, but it no longer moves?
I'm guessing it's probably some internal seals. You are certain the fluid level is topped off, right? The manual release screw isnt open is it?

Yes its full I was thinking the same thing about the seals I realeased the fittings on the bottom of the pump and there is only oil coming out of one of the.lines the other 3 having nothing coming out of them. I'm at a stand still I don't have.the.money to have machanic to look at it just to tell me I need a new pump I can replace it myself but am afraid that wont fix the.problem. the motor does work it spins left and right. I think it has to do something with the cyclinder thats in the bottom of the pump this is the piece I'm referring to

That is the pump. That unit is really hard to work on without a test bench. All kinds of check valves and pressure control valves. My advice is to find or look for a good used CMC or after market tilt unit. Have found them for 3-4 hundred.

Are you talking about buying the whole thing or just the pump and motor? Also I have found a lot of after market motor but not sure the pump comes with it.

The pump doesnt come with aftermarket motors. At least I've never seen it.

The best thing to do is replace the trim assm. stop trying to figure it out. The problem is in the valvebody of the unit. Have never seen anyone fix them, have seen alot try. Most of the time what happens is there are steel check balls in an aluminum body, and after awhile the steel balls miss shape the seats they set and seal in. In other words the steel beats up the aluminum sealing surface. Merc at one time made a replacment kit,,dont know if still avalible. If not Cook CMC makes a tilt bracket that will also give you 5-6inches of setback {like jack plate} which may improve overall performance to-boot. Cary
