Looks like a good start to some materials....Id sure check with crazy or grandpabob before you pull the plug.I think you'll be surprised at the savings..

I know their heads are much cheaper.8.00 for a hundred or 4.00 for 50.As you get further into it,you'll like hackle and maribou for your tails.

Crazy Angler much cheaper on most stuff. Not only that but I was in Barlows the other day and the guy working there said the were way behind on getting orders shipped out. I ordered from crazy and had my gear on the fourth day using std shipping.

Barlows is actually trying to hire people to do their shipping they are short handed from what they've told me.

Also assuming you have all the tools to tye with, you will probably want to paint your jigs next. Lots of different options, but you will probably end up using powder paint like most of us. Lots of guys say the paint isn't necessary, so it's your call.

Personally, I like kip (calf) tails and marabou feathers for crappie jigs. Fish hair or imitation polar bear is also good. Bucktail is too coarse and harder to tie.

I don't have any tools at all. What all do I need and where is best to get em? I'll get the powder paint in a few different colors. I was just gonna wing it on the tools but I probably need a vice at least.

Yep, Crazy Angler will get you off on the right foot. And if you want to wait on the paint his gold, silver and black jig heads work great. I use them a lot on plastics but they make some good looking jigs also.
