I have a Garmin 160 used it for a few years with no trouble but now it keeps cutting in & out. Any thoughts ( I know maybe a short)I've looked and can't seem to find where it could be. frown

If it has an inline fuse holder, try looking at that first for corrosion (sp?).If it is,change it out with a better water tight fuse holder.
If it was a short you would be blowing fuses.More then likely it's a bad connection somewhere.

Had the same problem with mine too--had to send it in to get it repaired--even though it was out of warranty, Garmin did the right thing and serviced my unit at no charge!

I went to the Garmin website and sent an email to service or whatever they call it and they replied with a phone number to call and get a shipping number. I then sent the unit in and they repaired it, sent a new tranducer , all free of charge in about 10 days. The only cost was shipping and insurance to them.
