Please tell me about Lake Waco before I go go. I'm a weekend angler who targets all species. My bassboat and I have been to 23 Texas lakes, but we've never been to Waco Lake! Thanks in advance.

Midway Park is an easy place to find and has a good ramp. It is just south of the twin bridges on Hwy 6. Lake Waco has bass, sandbass, and crappie. For crappie concentrate on the twin bridges, sandbass around the middle of the lake near the old dam, bass creeks looking for rocks and trees. Hope this info helps ya.

no. the only ramps you can access before 0600 is A4 Flat Rock on the north end of the lake and B2 Speegleville http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/waco/access.phtml all others are locked at night unless your camping at one of the parks. The lake is 1/2' high and the spillway is open. I was out their on Wed. 2-1 and the water was pretty muddy and a lot of current on the lake. Fishing was slow. Hope this helps and good luck.

Well, Lake Waco during Saturday's rain was interesting. I had a bad day. The areas I fished looked really great except I didn't see any bait fish, birds, or life as we know it. Rain is a good thing! but, fishing lazily is not! I'll return some day with more focus & vigor!
