Kenner, Blazer Bay, Path Finder all have the same hull design, orginally by Kenner. This is a great hull, last two boats have been Kenner now a Blazer Bay. 21' is a good solid length, can fish four outta it easy. Even if you do not buy one of these a key to look for would be the single or double hull. Single hull will look like fiberglass strands with colored strands through, Double will be smooth and sleek. We get single for two reasons, one is they are cheaper and two is the double hull adds about 1000 pounds to the boat, or so I have been told. Also, these makers above, the hull is a great dry hull and has sizable side walls. a Yamaha 150 pro V or V-max will make these boats run about 35-40 MHP with a tunnel, no idea what they will run without a tunnel. Hope this helps.
Keep a tight line!

Just repost post it in the right section and use copy and paste for the text so you do not have to retype anything, kenner and blazer bay both make 23.5' boat, but shop around looked used, you will lose you hide on a new one.
Keep a tight line!

Brian,
I think everyone is giving you great advice. This being boat show time, I cannot stress enought to go look at Kenner, Nitor, Pathfinder, Skeeter and Ranger, they all make some of the best center console fishing boats on the market.
I have owned a 22 Pathfinder and now have a 22ZX Bay Skeeter and love it. I fish alot in Baffin Bay and Galveston plus I stripper fish on lake Buchanan. None of the boats have every given me any problems in the big chop that occurs both on the bay on on the lake.
Just remeber it is your boat and you need to find what your taste are.
Good luck.

Brian, there are lots of great choices out there and I suppose everyone likes their own the best and I am no exception. I don't think you can go wrong with a Kenner.
I've got a 18V90. Every time I take it out I like it more. It goes to POC and AP Lake Travis and Buchanan. Its a smaller variety which is fine for me. When I run up on the invetitable sand bar all I have to do is get out, push it a bit and it floats right off. What's nice is the dry running area, takes those rough waves softly, and the 90hp Merc doesn't use that much gas. I've even used it to pull up wakeboarders with 5 people in the boat.
Not a lot of frills but everything is solid.
If you have a chance go down to Froggies at POC and watch them all being launched. You'll see them all.

I second the Blue Wave. I researched and rode in center consoles for a full year before making my choice. The extreme model is the best fishing machine that I've owned in 40 years of boat ownership.

I own a 1902 Kenner Vission. Wonderful boat. Takes the rough water well and goes 48 mph fully loaded with the 150 Mercury

My $0.02... There bass boat companies that have recently been getting into the center console business...then there are center console manufactures that have specialized in this type of boat for many more years...I understand that most bass boat hulls, 20foot and larger, can handle rough water....So stay with a name brand. I love the ride of my Ranger..Ranger makes a line of center console boats for $29K+....So does Skeeter, Blazer, Triton, and many more.... If you are going to keep the boat on Texoma only, check with some of the texoma guides and see what they use... I know that BlueWave has good boats for under $30K.....Here is my list, Ranger, Skeeter, Triton, Polar, Parker, Grady White, Scout, VIP, Mako, SeaCat, etc.... Check out the latest Fish and Game Magazine, January 2006 article on 2006 Boats....Then go out and test ride........ Texoma and leaving the boat at Texoma = FALCON.
The inboard has better gas mileage, the boat is perfect for that big lake for a great ride and fishability, you can get it with a T/top. You can also choose the console placement -- single centered up front, single on the side, single centered or dual.
If you pass up the Falcon...look at some bay boats including Bay Stealth, Blazer Bay, Sea Pro, etc...
I personally have not meet Ranger R, but I saw a lot of his posts and he asked a lot of questions and did a lot of research before he got his boat...so you might get some good data from him.
Just remember - your requirements in a boat are going to be different that most everyone else so size up the information based on what you want.

I am looking at CC boats too. I am wanting an 18 foot and am considering the Nautic Star and Bay Stealth in addition to the Kenner, so I am really interested in all of your remarks. A friend has a Nautic Star after a lot of research and I have fished out of it and it is really nice.
