I have a minn kota foot controlled trolling motor from 2004. I had 2 dead batteries and replaced them and now my motor runs like it's on 20 percent when I have it on 100 percent. What could be the problem? Has anyone had this problem? I live in Abilene. Are there any mechanics in the area that service trolling motors?

might have gotten gunk in the motor or armatures are bad or it could just be string wrapped up and creating an artificial load. Minn kota website has all the authorized repair facilities on their website.

Don't mean to insult your intelligence but if its a 24 volt make sure the batteries are both hooked up together correctly. I did it wrong once & that's what it did. Someone can probably post a diagram for you. I cant remember off hand how they both have to tied in together.

Could be String behind the prop or the armeture going bad. If its the armature go to northlandmarine.com. There like $70 and very easy to change. I had to change mine out a while back. PM me if you need any guidance replacing it.

Look at Minn Kota's web page and go to service and it will direct you to repair centers, there is one listed in Hawley.
