I've got a Yamaha 150 Pro V outboard and am wondering what type of oil other Yamaha owners are using in theirs. Mine is oil injected. Thanks..

I use Johnson/Evinrude XD25 in mine.
It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, all that matters is that you beat the leprachaun.

Yamalube is very good, Merc premium plus, Pennzoil synthetic, Amsoil injector.
You should be able to find the Yamalube/Mercury oil in bulk for a decent savings.

Kingfisher196 I have a Yamaha so I use YamaLube, if I had a Mercury I would run QuickSilver (I think is what they call it), basically I will run whatever the manufacturer recommends including RingFree in the gas which is also recommended by Yamaha. You will a lot of folks that disagree with that; however, I bought a Yamaha, I will use what Yamaha recommends. I have had excellent results using Yamaha's products for the last 20 years, one motor I had 13 years and never did anything else other than water pumps and plugs, got top dollar from a dealer when I sold it.

Use Yamalube in my 03 VMAX 150 Carb. Also run Ring Free and Stabil.

Thanks for the imputs. What does Ring Free do? I've heard of Stabil, but not Ring Free.

Redchevy is correct. Ringfree is an additive you put in the gas to assist in keeping carbon deposits down...good to use it. I use the Yamalube and ringfree in my Yammy. You can pick some up at Fun-n-Sun Hurst location.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

1 gallon of Yamalube at Fun n Sun is $18+ and you need to bring your own container. At Plano Marine is $14(tx included). Ringfree at FnS $18+ for 12oz. At PM $12+

A lot of people use sea foam instead of ring free. Most auto parts stores carry it so it easier to find than rf. It seems to work just as good in my yamaha and its about half the price, probably just because it doesn't say yamaha on the can.
You should be able to find bulk yamalube for 14 or 15 a gallon.

I have a Yamaha 225HPDI and only use Yamalube and ringfree in every tank. That is what Yamaha suggests so I stick with it. You can also find Yamalube in bulk at Rockwall Marine. I think it is $15 a gallon. Feed her good stuff and she will be good to you

Yamalube at FnS was 18$ for 2 gallons and Ring Free at FnS was 14$ for a 12 oz bottle.
