Does anyone ever have any luck in this lake?? It's 15 min. from the house and so convenient. I'm determined to figure this lake out - anyone have any pointers aside from "go to another lake"?

My father in law used to crappie fish there a lot but he bought an old Oldsmobile which is taking up his fishing time. lol I forced him to bass fish once (he hates bass fishing and trolls with it on high) and did OK in trees and shallow areas where you'd think they'd be. Of course that wasn't winter time.
I'd like to start fishing there more myself as I'm picking up my first boat tomorrow.

It's a hard lake to learn. There are plenty of good fish in Pool. It's a great structure fishing lake and some hydrilla can be found which always holds fish. If you can find hydrilla on structure your near bass.

Plus one to what Brandon said. It's made for a structure fisherman who's willing to put in the time to find the sweet spots on the structure---and add a little grass--you will catch bass.

And structure on JP may be a little more subtle than a number of lakes. The bottom composition is a bit more soft and it doesn't take a lot of cover to hold fish. Thus your electronics may help you stumble on a small feature that holds some quality fish.
