Unfortunately, my father has very bad allergies and takes a ron of medication for them. He doesn't fish, but I know in my soon to be future I will be plagued with them as well. I guess my question really references how does being on the lake effect you guys that have moderate to severe allergies? I would assume that the high wind mixed with all the allergens coming off plant life surrounding the lake would turn a fishing trip into a cess pool of headaches, difficulty breathing, and sneeze fits. Do allergies bother you guys on the water or are they more subtle?

Couple of times a year, mine get really bad no matter where I am. I take a Zyrtec (generic version) every morning to keep mine in check. Never noticed them being worse out on the water vs. just around town. Probably depends on what lake you are on and what you are alergic to.

That's kind of what I figured, it would depend on the lake and wildlife. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a mix of cedar, pollen and mold. Cedar being the worst.

I have all three allergies. My doctor gave me a shot of Kenalog and I have had no symptoms for about 3 months now. He said it lasts for about 6 months. I would highly recommend.

Go to your doc and have him run some allergy test on you, more than likely after what is discovered he'll provide a shot that will combat your allergies

Well the good thing is, I don't have any allergy issues at the moment; yet I'm sure that I will be receiving such fine gifts within the next few years. Just planning ahead.

My allergies kick in during middle spring and fall. Mt Cedar, and Ragweed.

Any time we get a west or northwest wind during the spring and early summer (mountain cedar) I get prepared with the meds.

You are doomed and nothing will help you. You can turn over your boat and all of your fishing equipment to me. I don't want to see you suffer!
