Wanted to ask if anyone has ventured out of state to go after tarpon, and if they had any suggestions for guides they have personally used, etc...?
Thanks!

I have been going to the Keys every couple of years
since the mid-late 80's.

Last year I fished in the Ft Lauderdale area.

look here for some pics

Most of the migrating Tarpon show up in the Keys in mid march
or later. I like to go the end of April. The tarpon are
there and it has not had time to get real hot.

In Key West Call Capt Paul D'Antonio http://www.fishinkeywest.com/

or in the Miami area Jeff Maggio
contact lunkerdog33@yahoo.com

I hope to fish with both these guides again this April

Good luck

Thanks Mo! Have been wanting to hit the migration for a few years now. Am realizing if I don't start doing these things soon - may never get a chance!!

I just booked two days with Capt Paul D'antonio, the last
two days he had open in April.

The better guides in the Keys used to book up a year in advance. the down economy opened up a lot of dates. Sounds like
they are filling up again.

good luck

Google Cape San Blas Fla. just the other side of Panama City. Reliable summer tarpon and several great guides. I just drift live bait up and down the beach out of my kayak. Awesome! You will thank me!
