I have acquired an old (really old) Motor Guide bow mounted trolling motor. The steering head is white and has 'Super Motor Guide' as the model number. Serial number is 1150A00300. I suspect the motor is about a 1972-1975 model, and probably about 10-12 pounds of thrust. However, this is only a guess. It was made by the Motor Guide Division of Herschede Hall Clock Company, Starkville, MS (before the company moved to Tulsa). This model has a variable speed pot and a high speed position through a double pole double throw selector switch. On and off is from the push switch on the foot control. I have rewired it completely and installed a new selector switch. The motor seems to run in both modes. If anyone knows anymore about such a motor, I would appreciate your comments. I'm only going to use it on a nine foot pond boat, along with a 30 lb Minn Kota mounted on the transom.
