Best sandbass fishing I have ever had, quality and quantity, unreal. Robert (Old Coach) invited me to join him at Richland Chambers again. Met him at Oak Cove 8:00am. The sky was overcast, misty and the wind was tolerable but going to be a problem. Head out and I notice I am missing a rod, head back found it sitting up against my car. One of the reasons we decided to fish today was that the last time we fished RC I left my new rod/reel and tackle bag in his boat so he was returning it to me, lucky for us I screwed up. I don't know how he does it but for some reason he decides to run across the lake (while we still can) and go to Ferguson point. Excellent decision. We get there and immediately start marking fish, catch fish, put down a buoy, drift off the buoy, mark more fish, put down another buoy. We are marking and catching so many fish I thought that there is no way this will last. Well it did for 4 hours. I counted 6 times we had a double double and two times I got a double while my rod was in the holder, put it down to get a drink or do something else. Does that count when you aren't really fishing but you catch a fish? There may have been a 5 minute time we didn't catch a fish. We never got more than a 1/4 mile from the point and caught fish all around that area. 4 Hybrids to 23", 12" yellow, over 150 sandies to 17" (fat and heavy) and three unknown species - see last pic. These fish were too big to be a yellow but they had a lot of yellow all the way down the body and had the shape of a hybrid (yellow hybrid cross??). I don't have the words to describe how good the fishing was, my arms are tired. Only saw one boat today, gone fishing - thanks for stopping by and saying hello. Enjoy the pics. Rob with a double My 23" Hybrid Fish fish everywhere, left, right, down. We saw this a more all day. Double, caught a lot of fish on Moe's SSS slab. Robs 23" hybrid Mystery fish - What is it?
