Has anyone ever used a Rhino Lining type of material in place of carpet on a fiberglass boat. Just an idea not even sure if it would work or be very safe. I'm about to re-carpet and wanted some advice. thanks.

I have seen some, I did it on the top cap of my boat. Great traction.

My express boat has there lining. It is similar to rhino liner but not as thick as what you would see in the back of a truck bed. I really like it. Never gets slick.

Pull up the carpet and sand it removeing the remaining glue and carpet. Then roll it with gel-coat.This is easy and is not exspensive or slick. Also seals and prevents water getting where you don't want it.

I used the Herculiner, they also make a protectant to put over it to keep it shiny. No other product makes a protectant that works, I've read hundreds of threads. And, yes it is fiberglass, it's a 1988 Skeeter. The Herculiner is $100 and the protectant is $20.00. I did have to buy another quart of Herculiner, because I wanted 3 coats.

Thanks, the old skeeter has been rolled in light grey gel -coat and then webbed with black highlites. It's cool and durable as well as water tight. The black webbing prevents slipping also.Light weight also and cosmeticly pleasing.
